Charles Leclerc returns to victory—the British Grand Prix is his! Hamilton is also on the podium, while Antonelli had a run of bad luck.

Charles Leclerc returned to victory in a Formula 1 Grand Prix nearly two years after his last win, climbing back onto the top step of the podium for the first time since October 2024, when he won in Texas. The Monegasque driver capitalized on an excellent start and an effective strategy, as well as the unfortunate mechanical failure that knocked Mercedes’ Kimi Antonelli out of contention for the win (finishing only 16th). The drivers completed the final laps behind the Safety Car, which was deployed after Max Verstappen went off the track (and subsequently retired).

Third place went to Lewis Hamilton, whose result was initially under review pending further investigation into his conduct while the yellow flag was displayed. Regardless of the British driver’s result, Sunday at Silverstone brought things full circle for Ferrari, marking its 250th victory in Formula 1 history.

Lando Norris, driving for McLaren, finished in fourth place, while Isack Hadjar in the Red Bull finished the race in fifth. Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad, both driving for Racing Bulls, Gabriel Bortoleto in the Audi, and Franco Colapinto and Pierre Gasly—both driving for Alpine—also scored points.

In the overall standings, Kimi Antonelli, despite scoring zero points today, remains in the lead with 179 points. George Russell is in second place with 154 points, and Hamilton is third with 147. Leclerc has also reached triple digits, moving up to 108 points. The next race will take place at Spa-Francorchamps in Belgium over the weekend of July 17–19.
