The Magical Nights at Real Villasanta Come to a Close with a Grand Gesture

Once again, Real Villasanta has triumphed off the field as well. After a season that was as grueling as it was rewarding—culminating in a League Cup victory following a second-place finish in the league—a handful of tireless green-and-white players took part in the “Notti Magiche” tournament in Ronco Briantino. They did so with sponsorship from Bar Cavour in Villasanta and did it in style, as the team—coached for the occasion by the duo Luca Saini and Mattia Longhi, who revived the tactics of the Mazzarri-Frustalupi duo—finished in third place.
The best part, however—as is often the case at Real, but also in the bars frequented by players and supporters of the club chaired by Sersi Marco Palazzi—came afterward. By mutual agreement, the players and coaching staff decided to donate the prize money (500 euros, roughly 140 Campari bitters) to Lele Forever, an organization that has been actively fighting leukemia for over 25 years and is named after Gabriele Brandazzi, a young man from Villasanta who also loved soccer and enjoyed playing in goal. A beautiful gesture.
A special jury also decided to award the Coppa Modestia to Real Villasanta’s coach, Massimo Levati, who, with great humility, volunteered to serve as a linesman, putting into practice what he had learned over the years from Diego Gavioli, Mario Ronchi, and Filini.
