In an era dominated by social media, even fans’ comments could be decisive in a transfer deal—or at least that’s what most Cagliari fans are hoping.

A few hours ago, Nahitan Nández posted a series of photos on his Instagram profile showing him with his family while enjoying a vacation in Sardinia, and the reaction from Cagliari fans was immediate.

The comments section was flooded with messages from countless Sardinian fans asking Nández to return to the island club: “Come back, we miss you so much,” wrote Eugenio, echoed by Gianfilippo: “We know very well that you miss Cagliari—the door will always be open for you!” There are hundreds of comments like these.

The star player, born in 1995 and currently playing for Al-Qadsiah in the wealthy Saudi Pro League, played for Cagliari from 2019 to 2024 before moving to Saudi Arabia on a free transfer. With the Sardinian club, he tallied 6 goals and 18 assists in 165 appearances and also wore the captain’s armband on several occasions.
