Inter Transfer Market: Palestra’s Agent Responds to Marotta and Denies the Report

Alessandro Lucci, Marco Palestra’s agent, responded to ANSA regarding the statements made by Inter President Giuseppe Marotta, who had accused the player of failing to honor a commitment to the club, claiming that it was the agent who had chosen another destination.
“I listened with deep regret and, at the same time, with great astonishment to President Marotta’s words. For over twenty-five years, I have shared a relationship of professional respect with him that has allowed us to complete numerous transfer deals,” Lucci stated.
The agent then recounted the negotiations, explaining that contact with Inter’s management—represented by sporting director Piero Ausilio—had been continuous and marked by the utmost cooperation. However, according to Lucci, the decisive point had not been accurately portrayed. “For about forty-five days, Inter and Atalanta—with whom I was in daily contact—never managed to reach a final agreement on the transfer,” he clarified.
This is where Chelsea reportedly entered the picture. “Contacts with the English club had begun only two weeks earlier, and we had promptly informed both clubs. In recent days, Chelsea entered the negotiations decisively, quickly reaching an agreement with Atalanta, the player, and us.” Lucci concluded by expressing his hope that the matter would be definitively resolved: “I hope we can turn the page and work with peace of mind as we look to the future, avoiding further baseless attacks against a young man who deserves nothing but respect.”
