Fortitudo Bologna has selected its second foreign player. The Bologna-based club has finalized the last details for the arrival of Jamel Vaughn Morris, a 193-centimeter American guard who will turn 34 in November and who will round out the team’s backcourt.

Coming off an excellent season with Lietkabelis Panevezys—the team he’ll also play for in 2022–23, and where former Cantù player Ivan Fevrier will play this year— Morris finished the most recent EuroCup with averages of 13.5 points, 2 assists, and 1.6 rebounds per game, shooting nearly 40% from three-point range in under 26 minutes of playing time. Among his most impressive performances were the 27 points and 4 assists he recorded against Panathinaikos.

The Fairmont State graduate, who left college in 2016, began his European career in Italy, in Civitavecchia, before playing in the G League and subsequently in Croatia, Poland, France, Germany, Italy with Brindisi, and again in France and Lithuania.

A left-hander with excellent one-on-one skills and a reliable three-point shot, Morris has signed a two-year contract with Fortitudo. With his arrival, the blue-and-white roster is practically complete.
