Jannik Sinner has another good reason to smile

Just a few days after his second Wimbledon triumph, Jannik Sinner has another important reason to smile: On Wednesday, the world No. 1 visited J-Medical in Turin for a series of scheduled checkups, a useful opportunity to take stock after the rigors of Wimbledon. The appointment, which lasted a couple of hours, yielded reassuring results: everything is proceeding smoothly, with no discomfort or issues.

The visit had a specific goal: to assess how Sinner’s body had reacted to the two weeks in London, which were marked by an extremely fast pace and temperatures often above the seasonal average. This was a particularly significant test given what had happened at Roland Garros, where Jannik was forced to withdraw in the second round after suffering an illness that was as sudden as it was debilitating. London, however, told a different story: Sinner won the tournament, delivering convincing performances day after day and demonstrating excellent physical stamina.

For the South Tyrolean, it’s now time to take a break. A few days off will help him recharge his batteries before the big summer tour on North American hard courts. On the horizon are Montreal and Cincinnati—with a decision still to be made on whether to play both—and, above all, the U.S. Open, where the heat will be an opponent as invisible as it is decisive.

In a season that has already brought him highly prestigious trophies, Sinner adds another piece to his sense of calm: his physical condition is solid, the strategies he’s adopted are working, and the second half of the year can begin with an extra smile. Once again, his attention to detail proves to be his secret weapon.
