Set against the backdrop of the Val di Fassa—the site of Genoa’s summer training camp at the Benatti Sports Center in Moena—Rossoblù coach Daniele De Rossi was named an ambassador of kindness and received the jersey for the “Building Kindness in Sports” Award.

This national award, born from a collaboration between the USSI Toscana group and the Costruiamo Gentilezza Association, was presented to the coach for his consistent and tangible commitment to social causes and for promoting inclusion initiatives that view sports as a fundamental tool for supporting younger generations.

The award was presented by Gaia Simonetti, the award’s creator, a sports journalist, and an ambassador for “Costruiamo Gentilezza.” The “Building Kindness in Sports” Award was established in 2022, inspired by a heartfelt gesture from goalkeeper Guglielmo Vicario, who was among the first to welcome a family fleeing the war.

Over the years, the “Kindness Jersey” has been awarded to men and women in sports who have distinguished themselves through acts of great humanity and inclusion projects carried out through sports. One of the unique aspects of the award is that nominations often come directly from children.
