F1 Hungarian Grand Prix: Norris on Pole, Hamilton Misses Out by a Few Thousandths. Antonelli Fourth, Russell Struggles

McLaren driver Lando Norris secured pole position for the Formula 1 Hungarian Grand Prix, the final race before the summer break in the premier class championship. In a surprise result, the British driver—the reigning world champion—was the fastest of the field with a time of 1:17.2027, finishing ahead of the two Ferraris driven by Lewis Hamilton (who took second place by just 12 thousandths of a second) and Charles Leclerc, in second and third place, respectively.

The Mercedes cars had a more subdued showing: championship leader Andrea Kimi Antonelli finished qualifying in fourth place, while George Russell will start from seventh. Between them are Oscar Piastri (McLaren) and Max Verstappen (Red Bull). Also in the top ten are Hadjar, Lindblad, and Hulkenberg

Kimi Antonelli leads the Drivers’ World Championship standings, arriving at the Hungaroring with a 204-point lead over second place, thanks to six wins this season. Behind him are Hamilton with 159 points and Russell with 154, while Leclerc trails with 126.
