Soccer is in mourning—Sami Said has died. He was only 18 years old.

The soccer world is mourning the death of Sami Said, a very young soccer player—just 18 years old—who played for Trento in Serie C. The young star died following a car accident in Morocco.
“A.C. Trento 1921 is deeply saddened to learn of the tragic death of Sami Said, a player in the Gialloblù Youth Academy, who passed away at the age of 18 following a car accident in Morocco,” reads the statement released by the club.
“Sami was part of the Gialloblù family, sharing with teammates, coaches, and managers a journey of athletic and personal growth that will remain in the memories of those who were fortunate enough to know him. In the face of such a tragedy, words fail us. All that remains is an immense sense of emptiness.”
“The President, the Management, his teammates, the Youth Academy staff, and the entire A.C. Trento 1921 family extend their deepest sympathy to his family, friends, and all those who loved Sami, offering their most sincere and heartfelt condolences. Goodbye, Sami,” the statement concludes.
