With Gianluca Gaetano’s departure and the returns of Michael Folorunsho and Luca Mazzitelli from loan, Cagliari has worked hard to shore up its midfield, bringing in Jacopo Fazzini, Alessandro Romano, Demi Akarakiri, and Harry Winks. However, the changes in the midfield may not be over yet.

According to the latest rumors, Tommaso Giulini is reportedly considering making a move for Youssef Maleh. The Lecce midfielder is highly regarded by the Sardinian club’s president, and his contract with the Salento-based club expires in 2027—a factor that could prove decisive.

In the final six months of last season, Maleh played on loan at Cremonese, putting in solid performances; he has now returned to his parent club under Eusebio Di Francesco, who has not yet decided whether to rely on him.

Should Di Francesco opt for other players, Lecce would immediately put Youssef Maleh on the market to avoid losing him on a free transfer in less than 12 months. In addition to Cagliari, it appears that several clubs from Spain’s second division are also interested in him.
