Andrejs Grazulis returns to Italy and starts over in Cantù

Pallacanestro Cantù has officially announced the signing of Andrejs Grazulis, a 202-centimeter, 101-kilogram forward born in 1993. The Latvian basketball player thus returns to the Italian league one year and three months after the end of his stint with Virtus Bologna, which had sent him on loan to Badalona in April 2025 before his permanent departure in July of that same year, with Turk Telekom as his next destination.

“I’m honored to have been given this opportunity. I can’t wait to start this adventure and prove my worth. I’m convinced that together we can have a great season,” Grazulis told the Brianza-based club’s official channels, as the team enters its second consecutive season in the top flight following its survival at the end of last season’s regular season.

Pallacanestro Cantù General Manager Simone Giofré also expressed satisfaction with the successful completion of the deal: “Andrejs is a player with extensive international experience gained with both club teams and the Latvian national team. His technical skills and understanding of the game are invaluable assets for the new roster we’re building, and we’re confident they’ll be appreciated by our knowledgeable fans.”

Born in Koknese, a town on the banks of the Daugava River in Latvia, Andrejs Grazulis grew up in Ventspils, where he also made his senior debut and won a Latvian championship. In his home country, he also played for Valmiera and VEF Riga (another club with which he won a national championship), before playing in Russia for Parma Perm and in Italy for Tortona, Trieste, Trento, and Virtus Bologna.
