Preseason friendlies: Cardiff vs. Roma, probable lineups

Roma will face Cardiff at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday in a friendly match scheduled at Cardiff City Stadium. The friendly in Wales is important for Gian Piero Gasperini, who will assess his team’s progress with twenty days to go before the start of the Serie A season.

The Welsh side, which plays in the Championship—England’s second division—will feature Salech at center forward, alongside Robinson, R. Colwill, and Willock. In midfield are Joel Colwill and Turnbull. The British team is further along in its preseason preparations: they will make their League Cup debut as early as August 8.

Gasperini is expected to field last season’s starting lineup: Svilar in goal, a back line consisting of Mancini, Ndicka, and Hermoso, Rensch and Wesley on the wings, and El Ayanoui and Cristante partnering in midfield. The three forwards will be Dybala, Soulé, and Malen as the center forward. Castro will be available but will start on the bench.
