2026 European Championships: Filippo Pelati Wins Silver in the Men’s Solo Free Routine

Another medal for Italy at the European Swimming Championships currently underway in Paris. This confirms that the Italian delegation possesses immense talent and has the potential to make history in swimming once again.
Filippo Pelati won the silver medal in the men’s freestyle event. The Italian swimmer finished in second place, behind Britain’s Ranjuo Tomblin. Spain’s Jordi Caceres Iglesias took the bronze.
Set to the music of Igor Stravinsky’s “The Firebird,” with choreography by Anastasia Ermakova, Filippo Pelati delivered a routine of great theatrical intensity in the water, transforming the theme of the allure of evil into a powerful, mysterious, and tension-filled performance.
In the women’s competition, in the same event, the gold medal went to Vasilina Khandoshka of Belarus. Italy’s Enrica Piccoli earned an excellent fourth-place finish. This marks Italy’s seventh medal at the European Championships.
