Rome Transfer Market: Push for Juventus Striker; Gasperini Gives the Green Light

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini continues to strongly push for a winger, and the Giallorossi’s transfer team is working to secure a signing to bolster the attack and satisfy the coach from Grugliasco. Having signed Santiago Castro from Bologna as a center forward, the Roman club has set its sights on Nico Gonzalez for the attacking wing position.

The Argentine international, a World Cup runner-up at the last World Cup in North America, has returned to Turin after a season with Atlético Madrid, where he performed well under Diego Simeone, playing a total of 36 games and scoring 5 goals. According to *La Gazzetta dello Sport*, Gasperini would very much welcome his arrival and sees him as a great fit for the Giallorossi’s attack.

The player would like to continue his stint at Atlético, but has not ruled out other options. Gonzalez has long been a favorite of Gasperini’s, who had already sought to sign him when he was coaching Atalanta. The Argentine’s ability to play on both wings and the international experience he has gained in Germany, Spain, and Italy are very appealing to Roma, which may make an offer in the coming days.

Atlético has not offered more than 24 million euros for the player, while Juventus wants at least 28 million to ensure a healthy profit. At the moment, there is no agreement, and Roma could take advantage of the situation.
