This will be the fourth preseason match for the new Lazio team led by head coach Gennaro Gattuso, who—after defeating Flaminia 6-0, Avellino 6-3, and Ascoli 2-1—will face Ostiamare, a newly promoted Serie C team, on Wednesday at 6 p.m., at Formello against Ostiamare, a team newly promoted to Serie C. This is the penultimate friendly match for the Biancocelesti, who will face Frosinone on Sunday, the 9th.

While it’s true that the caliber of opponents must be taken into account in all considerations, it’s also true that fourteen goals in three games bode well: in the match against Flaminia, Cancellieri, Dele-Bashiru, Bordon, Ratkov, Rovella, and Zaccagni (on a penalty kick) found the net; against Avellino, Serra, Ratkov (two goals), Belahyane, Artistico on a penalty kick, and Taylor; while against Ascoli, Lazio’s goals were scored by Zaccagni and Ratkov, the latter in the 89th minute to seal the victory over the Bianconeri.

Ostiamare, on the other hand, kicked off its summer with a 2-0 loss to Benevento, a team newly promoted to Serie B. Result aside, there is great enthusiasm surrounding the white-and-purple club, whose president—Daniele De Rossi—was a fierce rival of Lazio during his playing days. The Ostia-based team is coached by David D’Antoni, who has returned to the third division after his stint at Monterosi (now Guidonia Montecelio): with the red-and-whites, he secured promotion to Serie C in 2021 but was subsequently fired early in the new season following a loss to Turris.

Probable Lineups

OSTIAMARE (4-3-3): Vertua, Castaldo, Vianni, Spinosa, Brosco, Badje, Buono, Donsah, Greco, Carbone, Tesauro. Coach: D’Antoni.
