Torino President Urbano Cairo spoke to Sportitalia on the sidelines of the Mamma e Papà Cairo Memorial Trophy, revealing some news about the Piedmontese team’s transfer market, which is taking shape ahead of the upcoming season. Among the hottest names is Alessio Cacciamani, who is being tracked by Roma.

Cairo put a stop to the speculation: “We absolutely want to keep him; he’s been with us for three years and has performed exceptionally well so far, even at Juve Stabia. He has an excellent rapport with the coach. The goal is to keep him.” On Giovanni Simeone and Che Adams: “We’ve done everything possible to keep him. He’s too important a figure for us, and he’s performed very well at Burnley. Adams has also done very well for Torino over the past few years, and we’d like to keep him.”

Cairo, however, referred any questions about the goalkeeper to Petrachi: “Petrachi is handling the transfer market. We signed Mascardi, and Paleari has done very well here—especially last year—he saved our bacon, and I thanked him profusely. Let’s see if any opportunities arise; Petrachi has a few things in the works.”

The owner then returned to the topic of selling the club: “I’m the president, and if this is going to be my last year, I’d like it to be the best one—I’ve told the players that. So far, I’ve seen some interest, but I’ve never received any actual offers; I’m open to selling.”

As for the goalkeeper, the name at the top of Petrachi’s list is Lucas Perri of Leeds: the deal is reportedly already finalized in detail, but they’re waiting for the official announcement of Trafford’s transfer from Manchester City to Leeds to finally clear the way for the Brazilian’s arrival in Turin. Perri’s potential arrival at Torino could, in turn, free up Alberto Paleari, who has been demoted to third-string goalkeeper: Sampdoria and several Serie A teams—including Lecce, Venezia, Cagliari, and Parma—have expressed interest in the 1992-born goalkeeper.
