Frosinone Transfer Market: Walid Cheddira Could Return, but There’s a Rival

Frosinone continues to work on strengthening its offense ahead of its return to Serie A, and among the names at the top of the club’s list is Walid Cheddira. The Moroccan forward, who is owned by Napoli, is set to leave the club once again, but this time the departure could be permanent.

After a series of loan spells, Napoli no longer considers the 1998-born player part of their technical project and is ready to listen to offers for his transfer. Frosinone is closely monitoring the situation and is banking on the strong bond the player has with the Giallazzurri organization.

In the 2023–24 season, in fact, Cheddira left a very positive impression in Ciociaria. Wearing the Frosinone jersey, he scored seven goals in 36 league appearances, to which he added one goal in the Coppa Italia, contributing right up to the final matchday to the fight for survival of the team then coached by Eusebio Di Francesco.

However, President Stirpe’s club isn’t the only one interested in the center forward. Verona has also made a move in recent weeks, identifying Cheddira as a potential reinforcement for its attack. The competition from Verona is real, but Frosinone can count on the player’s commitment.

The Moroccan striker’s priority remains, in fact, to continue competing in Serie A. This preference was already evident during the last January transfer window, when he chose to turn down the opportunity to join Monza in order to remain in the top flight. This stance could prove decisive in this transfer window as well.
