Napoli Transfer Market: Bye-bye, Vanja—a former Udinese and Atalanta player in goal

You can’t talk about Napoli without mentioning goalkeepers: for a few years now, this has been a hot topic every summer. Vanja Milinkovic Savic’s time at the club appears to be coming to an end, though he won’t be joining his older brother Sergej in Saudi Arabia: the towering Serbian, born in 1997, is being courted persistently by Fenerbahçe, which could make its decisive move in the coming days.

As expected, several goalkeepers are in the running to replace the former Torino player: among them Wladimiro Falcone (Lecce) and Juan Musso, who would leave Atlético Madrid to return to Italy, where we’ve seen him in action between the posts for Udinese and Atalanta.

Falcone, in particular, is a prospect that has caught the attention of more than one Serie A club. The Lecce goalkeeper, who in recent years has proven himself to be one of the most reliable in the Italian league, has also caught Torino’s eye: the Granata have been tracking him for some time, and sporting director Gianluca Petrachi had already tried to test the waters in recent weeks. Competition from Napoli, however, could complicate the plans of Cairo and his team, who in the meantime have firmly set their sights on Leeds’ Lucas Perri as their top choice for the goalkeeper position.

As for Musso, the Argentine goalkeeper has had an unusual summer: called up by Scaloni for the 2026 World Cup—to be held in the United States, Mexico, and Canada—as the third-string goalkeeper for the Selección, the former Atalanta player is now ready to leave the Colchoneros. His move to Atlético Madrid dates back to the summer of 2024, when the Madrid club signed him from Bergamo as part of what would become a veritable fast track between the two clubs, later leading to the transfers of Matteo Ruggeri and Ademola Lookman.
