Fiorentina Transfer Market: Agreement Reached for Pellegrino

Fiorentina is stepping up its pursuit of Mateo Pellegrino: according to reports from Sportitalia, the Viola have reached a preliminary agreement with the agents of the Argentine forward currently at Parma. The Viola will make their move as soon as Roberto Piccoli—who is being targeted by Bologna and Lazio—is sold.
The former Cagliari player has expressed openness to a transfer to Bologna, where he would compete for a starting spot with Dovbyk: negotiations are based on a fee of 18 million euros, and the deal is expected to be finalized as a loan with an obligation to buy. This is the same formula Fiorentina would like to propose to Parma for Pellegrino: a loan with a 5 million euro fee, plus a 25 million euro buyout clause, for a total of approximately 30 million euros for the Argentine player. The deal is moving quickly, and there could be updates as early as the next few days.
Lazio is also interested in Piccoli, as they’re looking for a center forward following the rejection by Franjo Ivanovic, the young Croatian striker from Benfica who chose Lens instead so he could play in the Champions League. The Biancocelesti are evaluating several players to strengthen their attack, including Andrea Pinamonti of Sassuolo and Santiago Gimenez, for whom Milan might be open to a loan deal with an option to buy.
Mastantuono shared his first comments as a new Fiorentina player: “This is a very special day for me. I was really eager to come here, and I’m really enjoying the atmosphere. Why Fiorentina? Because it’s a team with a rich history, and I was very excited to play for such an important club. Viola Park is incredible—it’s a beautiful training facility where everyone is very kind and helpful. I spoke with the coach; he welcomed me in the best possible way, and I hope to start training soon so I can begin playing. I’d like to improve my defensive play—here in Italy, we work hard on that. I’d like to thank the fans for the warmth they’ve shown me during these first few days.”
