Inter Transfer Market: Roma Makes a Move for the Nerazzurri Winger; Marotta Weighs His Options

Gian Piero Gasperini is clamoring for reinforcements in the attacking midfield and on the wings, and Roma is considering how to meet his demands: to that end, the Giallorossi are finalizing negotiations for the transfers of Nahuel Molina and Rodrigo Mora to Italy—but that’s not all. The Rome-based club has also reportedly set its sights on an Inter player, who could leave Milan before the end of the summer transfer window.

According to Sky, Roma has shown sudden interest in Luis Henrique, a Brazilian winger coming off a disappointing season with Inter. Gasperini values the player highly, especially because he can play both as a winger and as an attacking midfielder. At the moment, only an initial inquiry has been made, but the deal could soon gain momentum.

Inter is weighing its options: the Nerazzurri could let Luis Henrique go for around 30 million euros, but if they sell him, they’d need to sign two right wingers. Chivu himself has been explicit in recent weeks: “We have three wingers now—actually, three and a half, because Carlos could play there. I prefer him as a third man, though. And depending on how we view Luis Henrique—whether on the right or the left—we’re still missing one. The transfer window is still open for a while; we need to be patient and choose wisely.” A sale of the Brazilian to Roma would only heighten Inter’s need to make moves in the transfer market.

To replace him, the Italian champions are closely monitoring the trail leading to Moussa Diaby: the French winger, born in 1999 and owned by Al-Ittihad, has made it known that he has not yet accepted Bayer Leverkusen’s offer, effectively reopening the door to a move to Inter. Inter had already submitted an offer of 20 million euros plus Kristjan Asllani, which was rejected, and is now reportedly preparing a revised bid. Should he join Inter, Diaby would be willing to accept a salary of 6 million euros per season. As an alternative, Inter’s management is also reportedly evaluating Nico Gonzalez, who has returned to Juventus after Atlético Madrid did not exercise its buyout option at the end of his loan and who does not fit into Juventus’ plans.
