Fiorentina Transfer Market, 11th Signing: Deal Done for the Striker

After a disappointing season last year—which ended with the team in 15th place after even facing the threat of relegation—Fiorentina has decided to overhaul the squad, and Fabio Paratici is working very hard to provide Fabio Grosso with a team capable of competing for a return to European competition.

The Viola are about to finalize the deal for Mateo Pellegrino, who will arrive from Parma for approximately 25 million euros, and Roberto Piccoli will make way for him. Signed by the Viola last summer for 25 million euros, the former Cagliari player fell far short of expectations and scored just 4 goals last season.

Piccoli’s future lies in Bologna, where he is expected to move on loan with an obligation to buy, contingent on the Bolognese team remaining in Serie A. The deal is expected to close for a sum of just over 15 million euros, with Fiorentina receiving a percentage of any future resale.

So far, Fabio Paratici has already brought ten players to Florence: Christ Inao Oulaï from Trabzonspor, Arthur Atta from Udinese, Viery from Grêmio, Giovanni Fabbian from Bologna, Marco Brescianini from Atalanta, Víctor Valdepeñas from Real Madrid, João Mário on loan from Juventus, Radu Drăguin on loan from Tottenham, Franco Mastantuono on loan from Real Madrid, and Álex Jiménez on loan from Bournemouth.

There is also the matter of Moise Kean to resolve: the star’s abilities are beyond question, but he struggled greatly last season, and Como would be willing to offer around 40 million euros to sign him. The Italian international is also being targeted by several Arab clubs; Fiorentina would like to keep him, but much will depend on the offers that come in.
