Preseason friendlies: Manchester United vs. Leeds—probable lineups

Manchester United faces Leeds United at 8:30 p.m. in one of its final preseason friendlies. The Red Devils, who will take on Amorim’s Milan on Saturday, drew with European champions PSG and defeated Atlético Madrid in their most recent high-profile friendlies. The Whites lost their last friendly against Leipzig, though they had secured an excellent victory over Liverpool in early August.
The match is being played in Dublin: Michael Carrick is relying on Mbeumo as the center forward, with Amad, Bruno Fernandes, and Dorgu in the attacking midfield trio. In midfield, the Tielemans-Santos duo will start, with Dalot and Shaw on the wings.
Leeds will feature new goalkeeper Trafford, with James, Calvert-Lewin, and Wilson forming the attacking trio. Bogle and Justin are on the wings, with Ampadu and Tanaka directing play from midfield.
Manchester United vs. Leeds: Probable Lineups
Manchester United (4-2-3-1): Lammens; Dalot, Yoro, Maguire, Shaw; Tielemans, Santos; Amad, Fernandes, Dorgu; Mbeumo.
Leeds United (3-4-3): Trafford; Muharemovic, Rodon, Bornauw; Bogle, Ampadu, Tanaka, Justin; James, Calvert-Lewin, Wilson.
Tarik Muharemovic, the Bosnian defender deployed at the heart of Leeds’ defense, is one to watch closely. Born in 2003 and arriving from Sassuolo, he is one of the most talked-about players of the summer transfer window: the Whites offered a sum close to 40 million euros to secure him, outbidding Sunderland and Bournemouth. Juventus is watching the situation with great interest, as it is entitled to 50% of the proceeds from any future resale of the player: any capital gain generated by the Bosnian’s transfer could prove decisive in financing other signings for the Bianconeri.
