Juventus Transfer Market: Jonathan David’s Transfer Becomes a Hot Topic
Jonathan David is one of the Juventus players who, if an offer deemed reasonable were to come along, might leave Turin. In recent hours, there has been persistent talk of possible interest from Aston Villa, which is looking for a new striker. Fabrizio Romano shed light on the situation, downplaying—for the time being—the possibility of a move to the Premier League. “As for strikers, let’s touch on Jonathan David as well, because this rumor about Aston Villa’s interest has been circulating over the last two or three days. I don’t rule out the possibility that Aston Villa will sign a striker because, as far as I know, Aston Villa is monitoring the striker market and has contacted several players. However, as far as I’m aware, there are currently no concrete negotiations underway regarding Jonathan David—neither on Aston Villa’s side, nor on the player’s side, nor on Juventus’s side,” explained the transfer expert.
Romano then added: “At this moment, Aston Villa has not spoken with the player’s representatives, and as of now, Juventus has not received any inquiries or offers from Aston Villa regarding the player. So, as of today, there’s nothing concrete. Should this possibility open up, we’ll see—because, as I said, Villa is looking for a striker, but as of now, my understanding is that Aston Villa’s priorities in the transfer market lie elsewhere.” At the moment, therefore, there are no concrete negotiations between Juventus and Aston Villa regarding David. The English club is evaluating various options for its attack, but the Canadian is not one of its immediate priorities.
However, the situation could change in the coming weeks. Juventus is, in fact, open to considering any offers, provided they are financially advantageous. A sale of David would allow the Bianconeri to secure funds to reinvest in other positions and in the targets identified by management. For now, therefore, there is no concrete contact and no offer on the table. Aston Villa’s interest remains a possibility to monitor, especially if other options for the attack were to become complicated.
