For Orlando Gill, the talk is back on our Serie A

Monza, having just returned to the top flight, continues to be active in the transfer market with the goal of providing Ivan Juric with an even more competitive team. In goal, the name of Orlando Gill has emerged; he was a standout during Paraguay’s excellent World Cup run, during which he also made headlines for a few spats with Kylian Mbappé.

However, the possibility of Michele Di Gregorio—now on the fringes of Juventus’s plans—returning to Brianza does not appear likely to materialize. Ahead of Saturday’s match at San Siro against Inter, Juric will entrust the goal to Samuel Pizzignacco, due to the suspension of Senegalese goalkeeper Demba Thiam.

As for Di Gregorio’s future, the most likely option remains a move to Olympique de Marseille, which is seeking a new starting goalkeeper following Geronimo Rulli’s departure for Manchester City. In recent hours, Lazio has also joined the list of interested clubs, with the Biancocelesti making a decisive move: Nicolò Rovella and Davide Frattesi—Di Gregorio’s former teammates at Monza—are reportedly acting as intermediaries. However, the goalkeeper is said to have rejected this suggestion as well, confirming his preference for a move abroad.

Pizzignacco’s starting role ahead of the match against Inter, however, could prove to be temporary on the transfer market as well. The Friulian goalkeeper, born in 2001, has caught the eye of Palermo, which is dealing with Jesse Joronen’s right shoulder injury—Joronen was forced to leave the Coppa Italia match against Lecce early and is expected to be sidelined for about two months. Juric would not object to a potential transfer, provided a suitable replacement is found.
