Lazio Transfer Market: The Road Ahead Is Getting Tougher for Michele Di Gregorio

Michele Di Gregorio remains one of the top names set to leave Juventus. The arrival of Guglielmo Vicario from Tottenham has shifted the pecking order in goal and further reduced playing time for the former Monza player, who is expected to leave Turin before the transfer window closes. In recent hours, Bournemouth and Lazio have reportedly been the most active suitors.

The move to England seems particularly appealing to Di Gregorio, who is open to the possibility of continuing his career abroad. Bournemouth is considering several goalkeepers, and the 1997-born player has reportedly made the list of potential signings.

The situation regarding Lazio is more complex. The Biancocelesti are said to have tried to convince Di Gregorio through two specific intermediaries: Nicolò Rovella and Davide Frattesi, who know the goalkeeper well after playing alongside him at Monza. The two midfielders reportedly tried to bring him on board with Lazio’s project, but have not yet succeeded—at least for the time being—in changing his mind.

Di Gregorio continues to favor a move outside of Italy, although Lazio may make another attempt. A deal between the two clubs could also be linked to the situation involving Christos Mandas, a Greek goalkeeper born in 2001 who is highly regarded by Luciano Spalletti and his staff.

Juventus must also simultaneously monitor the future of Mattia Perin. Palermo has made a decisive move for the goalkeeper, intensifying its efforts in recent days and continuing to work to try to convince him. Should both Perin and Di Gregorio leave, the Bianconeri would need to find a new backup goalkeeper behind Vicario.
