Inter Transfer Market: Kristjan Asllani Is Starting to Come Around—One Club Is Pushing Harder Than the Rest

Following Inter’s 4-1 victory over Monza on the opening day of the season, the two clubs will meet again this week to discuss transfer matters. Executives from Inter and Monza could discuss a deal to strengthen the Lombardy-based team’s midfield. Monza is dealing with several absences and, most notably, the serious injury to captain Matteo Pessina, who is expected to be sidelined for about three or four months.

The roster already includes Akinsanmiro, who arrived from Inter and missed the last match, but another Nerazzurri player could join him. Among the candidates is Kristjan Asllani, for whom a loan move is being considered: although the former Torino player seems more drawn to a move abroad, he watched the match at the Meazza and saw that the Biancorossi’s potential is anything but lacking. Another possibility is Yanis Massolin, who could join the Brianza-based club on a temporary basis as well.

The need to make moves in the transfer market was strongly reiterated by Ivan Juric himself following the match at San Siro. “The team needs to be strengthened in various positions on the field,” stated the Croatian coach, adding: “I expect a great deal from the transfer market; if we want to ensure we avoid relegation, we must make moves in every position.” These words clearly illustrate the situation of a still-incomplete roster, grappling with a crisis that extends beyond the midfield.

As for Massolin, the young midfielder born in 2002 joined Inter during the winter transfer window, when the Nerazzurri officially announced his permanent transfer from Modena. The player had impressed Inter’s management with his performances in Serie B, and now a loan move to Monza could provide him with the perfect opportunity to test himself in Serie A. It’s worth noting that Monza had already approached Inter about him in recent weeks, immediately after Pessina’s injury was diagnosed: a dislocated patella in his right knee that required surgery.
