Rome Transfer Market: Oosterwolde Signed, Now the Hunt Is On for Brighton’s Star

A spectacular end to the transfer window for Roma. The signing of Jayden Oosterwolde is now a done deal: the Giallorossi have reached an agreement with Fenerbahçe for a loan with an option to buy for 15 million euros (plus bonuses), which can become mandatory upon the achievement of certain individual or team objectives.
The arrival of the Dutch fullback resolves the search for a wingback but does not halt Roma’s transfer campaign; in addition to a winger, the club is also looking for a central midfielder: either Neil El Ayanoui or Manù Koné could in fact be on his way out. The Moroccan player has received an offer from a Saudi Arabian club, while the French international remains on the radar of Premier League clubs, even though he has repeatedly expressed his desire to stay in the capital.
Should either player leave, Roma could make a move for Yasin Ayari, the Swedish midfielder from Brighton. The 22-year-old, who has been in England since 2023, has increased his value tenfold in three seasons, and his transfer value is now estimated at around 45 million euros. According to the German press, Dortmund has made contact with the player’s representatives, while the Giallorossi have spoken directly with the British club, proposing a loan deal with an option to buy.
Ayari is a compact player with great vision and ball-handling skills, capable of playing in a two- or three-man midfield as well as in an attacking midfield role behind the striker. He participated in the last World Cup with Sweden, playing in four matches. He has made 25 appearances so far for the senior national team.
On the attacking front, however, Roma continues to explore multiple options: Gittens, Leao, and Malick Fofana remain the hottest names.
