Napoli Transfer Market: Noa Lang Returns to the Giallorossi—Allegri Says Goodbye
Ajax seems to have definitively withdrawn from the race, Atalanta has shifted its focus to other players, but the ever-ambitious Galatasaray has renewed its interest in Noa Lang, returning to the fray with greater conviction than during its initial inquiries. Napoli’s stance, however, is clear: the Dutch winger may leave only via a permanent transfer or through a loan that includes an obligation to buy. The Azzurri, therefore, do not intend to consider any arrangements that would allow the player to return to Napoli at the end of the season.
Lang’s departure is also closely tied to Napoli’s upcoming signings. Allegri wants to add another forward to the squad—preferably one with different characteristics from Hojlund and Lucca—to expand the options at his disposal. The Dutchman’s transfer value is estimated at around 25 million euros, and a suitable offer from Galatasaray could free up the resources and roster space needed to accelerate the signing of a new offensive reinforcement.
Gabriel Jesus remains at the top of Allegri’s wish list. The Brazilian, born in 1997, is set to leave Arsenal—where his contract expires in 2027—and has reportedly already expressed his interest in a move to Naples. His exclusion from the Community Shield match against Manchester City has definitively clarified his situation at the Gunners: there is no longer a place for him. The player, represented in Italy by Branchini, has no intention of renewing his contract and wants a permanent transfer, categorically ruling out a loan deal. His priority is to continue his career at a club competing in the Champions League—a requirement that Napoli fully meets. The main obstacle to the deal, however, remains his salary: Jesus currently earns approximately 15 million euros gross per season, a figure that requires a significant reduction in his financial demands to make the deal realistically feasible.
Should the Jesus deal fall through, Napoli already has a backup plan in place. One of the players they’re monitoring is Marc Guiu, a 20-year-old Spanish forward from Chelsea whom many compare to Samuel Eto’o; he’s highly regarded for his potential and considered a sound investment for the future. The London club is reportedly asking for around 25 million pounds—just over 29 million euros—plus a percentage of any future resale. Also on the list is Amine Gouiri, a 26-year-old from Olympique de Marseille, another possible option to bolster Allegri’s attacking lineup. In recent weeks, Chelsea’s Nicolas Jackson and Manchester United’s Joshua Zirkzee were also evaluated, although the path leading to Jesus remains the one favored by the Livorno-born coach.
We must not forget the context that led to the definitive break between Lang and the Neapolitan club. The relationship had already deteriorated last season, when in January the Dutch player was loaned to Galatasaray under a paid agreement with a buyout clause set at 25 million, which the Turks ultimately did not exercise. On that occasion, Lang did not mince words when speaking about then-manager Antonio Conte: “I didn’t click with the coach; let’s just leave it at that,” he told ESPN, adding that “one day, the whole truth will come out.” This clean break had effectively burned bridges with the Neapolitan club even before the end of the season, making the permanent split today all but inevitable.
