Matteo Prati’s transfer to Racing Santander frees up a spot on Cagliari’s roster, and despite the arrival of several midfielders during this transfer window, Fabio Pisacane has asked Tommaso Giulini to step up his game to fill the void left by the Ravenna-born player born in 2003.

Among the players Cagliari is evaluating to replace Prati is Emirhan İlkhan, whose contract with Torino expires in June 2027. The Turkish player has great talent, but Ignazio Abate has given the “green light” for his transfer, and his representatives are already shopping around.

However, there is a problem for Cagliari: according to several English sources, some Championship clubs have set their sights on İlkhan and are already preparing offers to present to Torino. Giulini, therefore, must move quickly if he wants to try to bring the Turkish player to Sardinia.

İlkhan could be Cagliari’s tenth signing; in recent weeks, the club has signed Daniel Maldini, Jacopo Fazzini, Giuseppe Aurelio, Alieu Fadera, Alessandro Romano, Demi Akarakiri, Harry Winks, Kevin Carlos, and Raphael Kofler.
