Inter Transfer Market: Surprise Midfield Departure
A surprise transfer for Inter in the final stretch of the summer transfer window. According to Sky, after making an initial inquiry a few days ago, Atlético Madrid has returned with a strong offer for a player who came up through the Nerazzurri youth system and is rumored to be on his way out, despite being held in high regard by Cristian Chivu.
Issiaka Kamate, a French midfielder born in 2004 who joined the Milan-based club in 2020, could leave the Nerazzurri in the coming days. A true midfield utility player known for his versatility, he played two seasons ago for the Portuguese club AVS, while in 2025 he spent six months on loan at Modena.
His performances have caught the attention of Atlético Madrid and Simeone, who have requested to sign the player on a permanent basis. Inter, which had initially rejected offers from Atlético Madrid and Palermo, is now open to a transfer but would like to include a buyback clause. The parties are working to reach an agreement on a transfer that the player himself is open to.
Last season, Kamate played 37 games for Inter’s Under-23 team, even becoming its captain. Chivu rates him highly, but there is no room for him at Inter, and the arrival of Curtis Jones has further closed the door on him.
Kamate’s transfer is part of a broader process of trimming down the Nerazzurri roster being carried out this summer. In recent hours, Kristjan Asllani’s transfer to Al Jazira was also made official, on a paid loan deal worth 2 million euros with an obligation to buy upon reaching a certain number of appearances.
