Monza Transfer News: Cyril Ngonge’s Signing from Napoli Is Official
Cyril Ngonge is officially a new Monza player. The Belgian forward is joining Monza from Napoli on loan through June 30, 2027, with an option to buy for the red-and-white club. Born in Uccle on May 26, 2000, Ngonge came up through the youth ranks at Club Brugge, where he made his professional debut in December 2018 against Standard Liège. A few days later, he also made his first Champions League appearance in the match against Atlético Madrid.
In the summer of 2020, the Belgian joined PSV Eindhoven on loan, where he made 22 appearances and scored 7 goals for the Under-21 team. His time in Dutch soccer continued with RKC Waalwijk, an experience that allowed him to gain more regular playing time in the Eredivisie: 5 goals in 20 games. The real leap forward came with Groningen. Over two seasons, Ngonge made 46 appearances and scored 11 goals, making a name for himself and attracting the attention of several European clubs.
In January 2023, he transferred to Hellas Verona, making his Serie A debut. The forward immediately proved to be a key player in Hellas Verona’s fight to avoid relegation, also playing a starring role in the relegation playoff against Spezia thanks to a decisive two-goal performance. By the end of his time with the Gialloblù, he had tallied 11 goals in 36 appearances. In January 2024, Napoli decided to sign him, acquiring him from Verona. Wearing the blue jersey, Ngonge played 35 matches and won the Scudetto on May 23, 2025.
His most recent stints took him first to Torino, on loan during the first half of the 2025–26 season, and then to Espanyol, where he played in the second half of the season, marking his first experience in La Liga. A right-footed attacking winger who is fast and capable of playing in multiple positions in the attacking third, Ngonge could be a key player for Monza. His resume also includes one appearance for Belgium’s senior national team, which came on October 10, 2024, in the Nations League against Italy.
