Rome Transfer Market: Robinio Vaz… or not? There’s a buyer, and the Giallorossi are pushing for a deal

It’s not just about incoming transfers for Roma; the club also needs to decide the future of Robinio Vaz. Negotiations are currently underway with Hull City for the young forward, based on a loan deal worth 2 million euros with an option to buy set at 30 million.

The Giallorossi had signed the 2007-born player just last January, acquiring him from Olympique de Marseille for 20 million euros plus 5 million in bonuses. Before joining Roma, Vaz had taken his first steps in professional soccer wearing the OM jersey: Having moved from Sochaux to Marseille in the summer of 2024 for just 200,000 euros, the young center forward had made 22 appearances across all competitions with the French club, scoring 4 goals and providing 3 assists before his transfer to the capital.

The young forward, of Senegalese and Guinean descent, could, however, leave the capital after just a few months to continue his career in England.

In the second half of last season, Vaz had nonetheless had the chance to shine in the Giallorossi jersey, contributing to Roma’s push toward European qualification. A prime example of this was his header against Lecce last March, when he came off the bench to replace El Ayanoui and broke the deadlock in a tough match with a precise header off a cross from Malen, securing three valuable points for Gasperini’s team.

The agreement between the two clubs has been outlined, but Vaz’s final approval is still needed to complete the deal. The player is currently discussing the terms of his contract with Hull City. Once a personal agreement is reached, the deal will be finalized, and the forward will head to England.
