The European dream returns with UEFA Nights on Sky’s “Casa dello Sport”

European dreams are about to light up the nights at the Casa dello Sport once again: the grand spectacle of the European Cups is kicking off, and they’ll continue to be broadcast on Sky through 2031. The season resumes on September 8: Europe’s best soccer will be on Sky and streaming on NOW, featuring 53 matchdays of the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Europa League, and UEFA Conference League, brought to you by Sky Sport’s all-star team of journalists and on-air talent, with new studios and new formats that will elevate the spectacle of these highly anticipated competitions. Seven Italian teams will take the field, taking on Europe’s best teams in more than 500 live matches. It’s a season not to be missed following last year’s record-breaking numbers, which saw approximately 40 million viewers choose Sky Sport’s coverage to witness the magic of European soccer.

We’re kicking things off strong with Europe’s premier competition, whose first round of the league phase will be played over three days, from September 8 to 10. In total, 185 of the 203 matches will be broadcast exclusively live*, with Inter, Napoli, Roma, and Como taking the field against the continent’s top clubs in a tournament that will conclude on June 5, 2027, at the Estadio Metropolitano in Madrid.

There is also great anticipation for the UEFA Europa League and the UEFA Conference League, with all 342 matches set to air exclusively live on Sky, thanks in part to Diretta Gol. On September 16 and 17, the first two matchdays of the Europa League will take place, with Milan and Juventus kicking off their campaigns toward the May 26, 2027, final at the Stadion Frankfurt in Frankfurt. The UEFA Conference League—with Atalanta as the only Italian team in the competition—will kick off on Thursday, October 15, with the final scheduled for June 2, 2027, at the Beşiktaş Park in Istanbul.

THREE CUP COMPETITIONS, ONE NARRATIVE

The studios will be the beating heart of Sky Sport’s coverage, offering comprehensive and refreshed editorial coverage that weaves together the journeys of Italian teams with the stories of the great stars of international soccer. The three UEFA competitions will be presented as a single major event spread across the European week. This new editorial approach will take fans and enthusiasts on a journey through all the Cup nights, in a single matchday spanning Tuesday through Thursday, transcending the boundaries of individual competitions to create a continuous narrative that will focus on results, key players, emotions, and themes set to emerge day after day.

Leading this journey will be Federica Masolin, host of *Sky Calcio Show*, Sky’s iconic brand returning to cover the European Cups from the first goal to the last, from the initial pre-match reports to late-night analysis. This coverage will combine studio segments, reports from the fields, tactical insights—with technological support from Sky Sport Tech and Sky Sport Skills—and discussions with Sky Sport’s talent, with the opportunity, during the season’s most prestigious matches, to transport the team directly to the sidelines to experience the event’s atmosphere even more intimately. Enriching the coverage will be Sky Sport’s iconic figures, who bring expertise and experience to the studio, along with dozens of trophies. A team made up of those who have lived through European nights as protagonists: Fabio Capello, Alessandro Del Piero, Zvonimir Boban, Alessandro Florenzi, Beppe Bergomi, Alessandro Costacurta, Paolo Di Canio, Luca Marchegiani, Riccardo Montolivo, Walter Zenga, Massimo Gobbi, Faouzi Ghoulam, Michele Padovano, Giancarlo Marocchi, Nando Orsi, Lorenzo Minotti, Aldo Serena, and Gianluca Zambrotta. Also returning this year is Sky’s leading European Cup commentator, Paolo Condò (an Italian juror for the Ballon d’Or), along with the expertise of prominent journalists such as Stefano De Grandis, Marco Bucciantini, Gianfranco Teotino, and Angelo Carotenuto—joined this year by the prestigious new addition, Massimo Caputi. Reporting live from all the major stadiums will be the Sky Sport team of correspondents, led by Gianluca Di Marzio.

Sky Calcio Show will also be on location at major European stadiums with special segments throughout the season, broadcast directly from the sidelines. The studio coverage of the 6:45 p.m. matches on Tuesdays and Wednesdays will be hosted by Licia Virdis, another new addition to the Sky Sport season. Rounding out these big European nights will be Mario Giunta with *After Party – La notte dei campioni* (After Party – The Night of Champions), the new show dedicated to everything beyond the final score—in particular, the great plays and stories from European cup competitions, not just those involving Italian teams. It’s an opportunity to revisit the matches through the major themes they offer, as well as the smaller stories, the most anticipated stars and emerging talents, the memorable moments (and perhaps those less frequently seen before), and the most exclusive highlights of the evening. Among the guests over the three days will be Lisa Offside, Sky Sport’s digital host, who will bring to the program all the insider tidbits from the sidelines and beyond, alongside an energetic team of Sky Sport journalists including Gianluigi Bagnulo, Filippo Benincampi, Luca Mastrorilli, Niccolò Omini, commentators such as Stefano Borghi and Federico Zancan, and the regular Thursday appearances of Fabio Caressa and Beppe Bergomi. The day wraps up at 1 a.m. with “Goleador Europa,” a recap of all the day’s goals. Sky Sport’s coverage continues well beyond the final whistle. Throughout the week, Sky Sport 24 will follow the progress of Italian teams and major international clubs with news, live reports, press conferences, interviews, and in-depth coverage from the fields, offering fans a constant stream of updates and exclusive content. This editorial coverage finds its daily focal point in *Euro Show*, the 2 p.m. program hosted by Valentina Mariani and Niccolò Omini, dedicated to the stories, key players, and themes that drive European soccer.

ALL THE GREAT FOOTBALL ON SKY SPORT

From the big European nights to the major international leagues, 11 months of great football have kicked off on Sky, featuring one of the richest football lineups ever: over 2,000 live matches, more than 4,000 hours of live coverage, and nearly 600 hours of in-depth analysis, bringing you stories of champions, rivalries, and soccer every day. Serie A Enilive is back (3 out of 10 matches per matchday in co-exclusive coverage and the big matches, featuring at least 30 of the top 76 games in the league, including 4 head-to-head clashes between the top teams) and Serie C on Sky Wifi, featuring all 1,143 matches of the season, including the playoffs and matches from the Super Cup and the Coppa Italia (starting with the round of 16). European action also includes international leagues, with exclusive coverage of the English Premier League (through 2028) and, in Germany, the Bundesliga and Zweite Bundesliga (through 2029). The “Casa dello Sport” also features women’s leagues, including the Serie A Women’s Cup—now in its second edition—which will conclude with the final on the weekend of September 19–20. In addition, one match per round of the English Women’s Super League and, starting in January, the Coppa Italia Women (beginning with the quarterfinals) and the Women’s Super Cup.

It’s not just about the games, because throughout the season, Sky Sport’s signature original productions are back: from Giorgio Porrà and his “L’Uomo della Domenica,” all the way to “Federico Buffa Talks,” featuring Federico Buffa and Federico Ferri, Sky Sport’s editor-in-chief, as well as Paolo Di Canio and “Di Canio Premier Special,” with Paolo Di Canio, and a new season of “90/10,” with Stefano Borghi. There’s also room for biopics on the careers of the great figures in soccer history, including “Aldair. Cuore giallorosso,” the Sky Documentaries docufilm—produced in collaboration with Sky Sport—dedicated to the legendary Brazilian defender and Roma icon, and “Giampiero Boniperti. L’unica cosa che conta,” the first docufilm entirely dedicated to a central figure in Juventus and Italian sports. A collective narrative, produced with the exceptional participation of the Boniperti family and featuring the voices of the champions who knew him or who won titles on his teams.
