Udinese, Palermo, and Torino: The Fine Is Imposed
The Coppa Italia Disciplinary Committee, headed by Alessandro Zampone, after reviewing the match reports for the six Round of 32 games played this week, has imposed financial penalties on three clubs: Udinese, Palermo, and Torino. Below are the reasons cited in the official press release from Lega Serie A, the organizer of the Coppa Italia.
“A fine of €4,000.00: imposed on UDINESE, on the basis of strict liability, for unjustifiably causing a three-minute delay in the start of the second half.”
“A fine of €3,000.00: imposed on PALERMO for its supporters throwing three plastic bottles onto the field of play during the match; penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.”
“Fine of €1,500.00: imposed on TORINO for its supporters throwing a smoke bomb onto the field in the 35th minute of the second half; penalty reduced pursuant to Art. 29, paragraph 1, letter b) of the CGS.”
The Coppa Italia matches already played are Cagliari vs. Hellas Verona 1-2, Palermo vs. Mantova 5-2, Parma vs. Cremonese 0-2, Sassuolo vs. Frosinone 5-4 (after penalty kicks), Torino vs. Monza 0-1, and Udinese vs. Venezia 2-1. The round of 16 will conclude on Thursday, September 15, with Genoa vs. Südtirol (6:00 p.m.) and Fiorentina vs. Pisa (9:00 p.m.).
The round of 16 lineup is therefore nearly complete: Bologna vs. Palermo, Milan vs. Monza, Como vs. Cremonese, Roma vs. Hellas Verona, Juventus vs. Sassuolo, and Atalanta vs. Udinese are already confirmed. Inter, meanwhile, will face the winner of Genoa vs. Südtirol, while Napoli will face the winner of Fiorentina vs. Pisa.
