Coulibaly Leads Lecce to a Third Straight Win; Monza Loses Again Despite Zeballos

A crucial victory in the fight for survival for Lecce, which once again took all three points against a newly promoted team. The Giallorossi got off to a blistering start at home against Monza, taking the lead as early as the 3rd minute with a header by Lassana Coulibaly off a corner kick taken by Ilic.

Seven minutes later, following another set piece by the Serbian, Tiago Gabriel scored the second goal, beating Thiam once again. Monza, however, didn’t give up, and in the 20th minute, they pulled one back through Mangas, who did well to slip behind the Lecce defense and slot home a low cross from Birindelli.

Coulibaly, however, quickly restored the lead and sealed the victory shortly afterward, completing his brace by pouncing on a cross from Danilo Veiga.

In the second half, the pace slowed considerably, but Lecce managed the lead, only getting a scare in the closing minutes when Zeballos, making his debut, scored the winning free kick to make it 3-2 with a low shot that caught Falcone off guard. For Lecce, it was their second win in Serie A, while Monza remained on 1 point in the standings.
