On the night of Saturday, September 13, to Sunday, September 13, Daniel Maldini was involved in a car accident in Milan. The Cagliari player, after playing against Atalanta in Bergamo, was in a car accident and sustained minor injuries. Maldini was taken to Fatebenefratelli Hospital and was discharged after receiving the doctors’ “all-clear.”

The player then posted an Instagram Story showing the results of his toxicology tests, which came back negative, as previously announced by Cagliari in an official statement: “Cagliari Calcio announces that soccer player Daniel Maldini, following reports that have emerged in the press in recent hours, underwent toxicology tests. All tests conducted came back negative.”

“The player will join the team as usual this afternoon when training resumes in preparation for the team’s upcoming matches,” reads the statement released by the club owned by Tommaso Giulini.

Daniel Maldini was coming off a 2-1 victory against Atalanta, thanks in part to a penalty kick he scored. The Sardinians had taken the lead thanks to a goal by Paul Mendy, then Gianluca Scamacca had equalized the match before Maldini’s decisive penalty kick in the 61st minute.
