Elisabetta Canalis Spills the Beans on the End of Her Friendship with Maddalena Corvaglia: “The Truth Is Simple”

“Nothing that’s been written in the newspapers actually happened. The truth is much simpler.” As a guest on *Verissimo* on Saturday, September 26, Elisabetta Canalis reflects on the end of her friendship with Maddalena Corvaglia—a very close bond that had been a part of the two former *veline*’s lives for years.

“I don’t think I have anything to hold against her, and I really don’t think she has anything to hold against me,” explains Canalis, speaking with regret about the distance that has grown between them over time: “I was so sorry about it; we used to be together all the time.” Despite the end of their relationship, however, her feelings toward her former friend haven’t changed: “When I see something good happen to her, whether in her personal life or her career, I’m overjoyed for her.”

During the interview, Canalis also discusses her relationship with her ex-husband Brian Perri, the father of her daughter Skyler. “He was the real reason I stayed in the United States,” she says, explaining that the separation was initially handled very privately: “When we separated, we didn’t even tell our families for a year.”

It was a decision made after a shared journey: “After 10 years, we looked each other in the eye and thought it was more honest to continue loving each other, but to live apart.” A choice that, according to the former showgirl, allowed her to build a different kind of relationship with her ex-husband: “Now there’s a relationship that’s more genuine and fulfilling than the one we had before.”

Finally, Canalis talks about her love life and describes herself as “practically an eternal single.” The possibility of remarriage, however, isn’t ruled out: “I’d get married again, but if my daughter heard me….” Then she adds with a touch of irony: “She’s the supreme judge, but she’s always right.”

And when it comes to her romantic future, she leaves every possibility open: “If tomorrow I found the man of my life, my heart would race, I’d be happy—I wouldn’t rule anything out.”
