Ferrari, Rumors About Horner: Vasseur Is Disappointed

Christian Horner and Ferrari: Rumors of a possible partnership have resurfaced with a vengeance following the former Red Bull team principal’s interview with The Times, in which he called the chance to lead the Prancing Horse “a dream.”

“Ferrari is the most important brand in Formula 1. And we can say it’s the sleeping giant of F1. I feel like I still have one more dance to dance. And Toto needs to have his h… hair ruffled,” Horner had stated.

Speaking to Sky, current Ferrari boss Frederic Vasseur commented on the rumors surrounding him: “It’s difficult, but not just for me—in fact, it’s something that affects everyone on the team. Last week we had to read that someone will be fired, and honestly, all of this puts the team in a tight spot. Surely the lack of peace of mind doesn’t help the team, but that’s the way it is, and we have to keep working,” said the French manager.

Rumors of a possible leadership change at Ferrari are nothing new. Already after the disastrous Italian Grand Prix at Monza, the team’s top brass—led by President John Elkann—had expressed strong dissatisfaction with the handling of the weekend, which culminated in the collision between Charles Leclerc and Lewis Hamilton at the start and the Briton’s disappointing sixth-place finish. According to reports in the Corriere della Sera, Vasseur’s position had already been described as “uncertain,” with pressure from above that could have triggered his dismissal.
