Armani Olimpia Milano: First, Celebration Day; then, the matchup against Trieste

After suffering a crushing defeat in their first EuroLeague game on Partizan Belgrade’s tough home court, Armani Olimpia Milano is ready to take the court again. Today at 4:00 p.m., they’ll face Pallacanestro Trieste at the Forum in a game counting toward the first round of the LBA.

Before the game, Celebration Day is scheduled, featuring the formal coronation of Olimpia as the Italian champions. Before tip-off, there will also be time to remember Gianfranco Pieri, the great point guard of the legendary team from the 1960s.

“Trieste is an opponent we know little about because they played their preseason with an incomplete roster. Adding to this uncertainty is the fact that we’re playing less than 48 hours after our road game in Belgrade, which makes this a tricky matchup. We’ll need to play with the highest level of focus and concentration, thinking about how to improve in areas that need work, knowing that Trieste has quality players whom we respect greatly.
