Milan: Franco Baresi’s mural vandalized

There is widespread outrage among Milan fans after someone vandalized the mural dedicated to Franco Baresi, located right in front of the AC Milan headquarters.

The mural, which pays tribute to the legendary Rossoneri No. 6 who passed away on July 31 at the age of 66, was damaged in several places with spray paint. The player’s face was defaced, as was his iconic No. 6.

The act of vandalism, which was reported by City Councilman Alessandro Giungi, has infuriated and outraged fans, who have demanded immediate action and the identification of those responsible for the damage.

The mural’s creator, Lucas Streetart, also commented on the incident: “Seeing my paste-up so damaged brings me immense sadness—not because of what I created, but because of the person it represented and all the people who were moved by it.”

Baresi is one of Milan’s legends: twenty years in the Rossoneri jersey, fifteen seasons as captain, six league titles, three European Cups, and two Intercontinental Cups won during his career. He is the player with the second-most appearances for the Diavolo, behind only Paolo Maldini.
