Peppe Poeta savors the buzzer-beater victory in the EuroLeague Italian derby against Virtus: “I’m very happy. We had some moments of excellent basketball—not for the full 40 minutes—but we’ve improved and taken a step forward. I’m very pleased with the performances of the rookies, who struggled in the first game but have now responded in the best possible way.”

“Where does the team stand right now? I’m not good at giving percentages, partly because the growth process isn’t linear. I’m happy with the progress we’ve made in certain areas, like our improved offensive quality—we took 30 three-pointers—and we’re heading in the right direction. Defensively, we can still improve. Winning four out of five games boosts our confidence and lets us work with more peace of mind.”

Devon Hall was decisive with the game-winning shot at the buzzer: “I’ve been saying this since day one—he’s the kind of player every coach would want. He always has the right body language, plays three positions, and is a positive leader. He’s a valuable asset on any team. A player who always does what’s needed. I’m glad he hit the buzzer-beater, because that’s something he usually never does. We intentionally went to him. We’re very happy.”
