Dublin’s Aviva Stadium is set to host the match between the Republic of Ireland and Austria, part of Matchday 3 of Group 3 in League B of the UEFA Nations League. The hosts are looking to build on their win over Israel, while the Austrians enter the match atop the group thanks to two wins in their first two matches.

Heimir Hallgrímsson’s Republic of Ireland bounced back from their loss to Kosovo with a convincing 3-0 victory over Israel in a match played on neutral ground in Hungary. Troy Parrott was the standout performer, having scored seven goals in his last five official matches. The Irish now return to play in front of their home crowd, where they haven’t lost in eight consecutive matches: five wins and three draws. This streak is further highlighted by four straight matches without conceding a goal.

Ralf Rangnick’s Austria, on the other hand, got off to the best possible start in the Nations League. Das Team defeated both Israel and Kosovo 3-1, scoring six goals in the first two matchdays and taking sole possession of first place in the group. Recent head-to-head results also favor the Austrians, who have recorded six wins and three draws in their last ten matches against Ireland.

Hallgrímsson must deal with several key absences. Nathan Collins, Seamus Coleman, Evan Ferguson, and Josh Cullen will not be available. The head coach called up Bosun Lawal from Stoke City at the last minute to bolster the midfield. Parrott is expected to start up front again, with Ogbene and Moylan behind him. In defense, in front of Kelleher, Abankwah, Egan, and O’Shea will start.

Austria, meanwhile, will have to do without the suspended Kevin Danso and the injured Gregoritsch, Wanner, and Veratschnig, but Konrad Laimer is back. Junior Adamu is expected to start up front, supported in the attacking midfield by Wimmer, Schmid, and Laimer.

Probable lineups:

Republic of Ireland (3-4-2-1): Kelleher; Abankwah, Egan, O’Shea; O’Brien, Molumby, Knight, Manning; Ogbene, Moylan; Parrott.

Austria (4-2-3-1): A. Schlager; Posch, Lienhart, Affengruber, Wöber; Siewald, X. Schlager; Wimmer, Schmid, Laimer; Adamu.
