Turin Transfer Market: Doubts Surround Zapata; Granata Scouts on the Lookout for a Forward

Torino’s management is assessing the state of Ignazio Abate’s available forwards. So far, Che Adams—who was expected to leave this past summer—has stood out the most, while Giovanni Simeone has yet to score and Duvan Zapata still hasn’t shown the necessary physical readiness.
The Colombian forward is still dealing with a knee injury and is training at Filadelfia to get back into shape. He is following a training program to be available for Abate when the league resumes on Monday, October 12, against Udinese. The coming months will be decisive for Zapata: Torino could look elsewhere as early as the January transfer window.
Among the players Torino is definitely tracking is Daniel Mikolajewski, a young forward born in 2006 who is owned by Parma and is currently on loan to Lucerne. The young player has scored 4 goals and recorded 3 assists in his first seven Swiss league matches and has immediately caught the attention of the Granata.
According to Tuttosport, scouts from the Piedmont-based club also watched him during the match between Poland’s Under-21 team and their Swedish counterparts, which was played in Katowice, and will continue to keep an eye on him next week. Against the Swedes, he provided an assist and put in a solid performance; on Monday, he’ll put himself to the test against Italy. Parma values him at at least 10 million euros.
