Jannik Sinner: According to the *Corriere della Sera*, it’s “red alert” following his training session two days ago

Jannik Sinner’s latest withdrawal has reignited a whole series of discussions about the Italian star’s actual condition; he has been sidelined since the Wimbledon final due to a right knee injury. This marks the world No. 1’s fifth consecutive withdrawal in Shanghai, following Montreal, Cincinnati, the U.S. Open, and Beijing.
Neither Sinner’s entourage nor the player himself is revealing any further details, and rumors are multiplying—especially on social media, but not only there. The Corriere della Sera has also joined the chorus of rumors, reporting that a training session two days ago in Monte Carlo ended early for the South Tyrolean tennis player.
The two young men called in as sparring partners by the Piatti Academy were reportedly sent back to Bordighera early. “Enough, let’s go, I can’t take it anymore,” Sinner reportedly said after forty minutes of training. Videos of him on the court have stopped circulating on social media, and “the alarm is red.”
The Italian Tennis Federation itself, which has made doctors and resources available, is reportedly concerned. It’s still too early, however, to speculate on a possible withdrawal from the ATP Finals in Turin: the next events on the schedule are the lucrative Six Kings Slam, set to take place in Riyadh, and the Vienna tournament in late October. Everyone is waiting for an update from Sinner, who was in Lyon in recent days for a consultation with a renowned surgeon.
