Juventus: Luciano Spalletti Takes a Dig at Dusan Vlahovic; Social Media Goes Wild

In the final months of last season, the Dusan Vlahovic situation sparked a lot of debate at Juventus: the player’s contract was expiring, he couldn’t reach an agreement with the club to continue together, and he therefore found himself without a team over the summer. Several weeks passed before the former Fiorentina player chose Besiktas: it seems he was waiting for a call from the Premier League that never came.
Luciano Spalletti did everything he could to convince Vlahovic to stay in Turin, but the Serbian chose to move on. In an interview with Tuttosport, the Bianconeri’s head coach spoke again about the striker: “He still needs to find peace of mind. He needs to find a personal balance because he gets himself into a mess. It’s a matter of balance, of finding the right emotional state.”
Spalletti’s dig at Vlahovic sparked a reaction from many Juventus fans, who took to social media: “Well said, coach. He left convinced he’d end up in the Premier League, but things didn’t go so well for him…” wrote Gianfranco on X. Carmelo’s message struck a similar note: “In a nutshell, Spallettone managed to sum up Vlahovic’s three and a half years at Juve. Nothing more to add.”
At Besiktas, Dusan Vlahovic has been reunited with Vincenzo Italiano, his former coach at Fiorentina, who recently had this to say about the Serbian: “We’ve signed a 26-year-old who’s still a valuable player with a bright future: once he’s back on track, he can become the Vlahovic I had in Florence. I don’t know why he didn’t get more playing time at Juve—it seems to me he did score a few goals.”
“I spoke with him the day I signed. Just to get a sense of things, since he was leaving Juventus. He had numerous offers from major clubs. He told me that if those deals didn’t work out, we’d be in touch again. The club agreed with me that we should try to bring him here.”
