A EuroLeague signing for Sasha Djordjevic’s Bahcesehir

Bahçeşehir Koleji has bolstered its roster with Luka Mitrović, who is coming off a season with CSKA Moscow. Born on March 21, 1993, in Novi Sad, Mitrović began his professional career with Hemofarm before transferring to Red Star Belgrade in 2012. With the Serbian club, he made a name for himself internationally thanks to his performances in the Adriatic League and the EuroLeague. In the 2014–2015 season, as captain, he finished the EuroLeague with averages of 8.6 points and 5.2 rebounds in 24 games, also earning the Serbian Cup MVP award. That same year, he achieved the treble, winning the Serbian league, the Adriatic League, and the Serbian Cup.
In his first five years with Red Star, the 206-centimeter power forward won three Serbian league titles, three Adriatic League titles, and four Serbian Cups. In 2017, he left Belgrade to join Brose Bamberg, and during the 2019–2020 season, he played in Spain for UCAM Murcia and Manresa.
In 2020–2021, he played for Budućnost, winning the Montenegrin league title and cup. The following summer, he returned to Red Star, where he remained for another four seasons, further adding to his trophy collection with two more Serbian championships, two Adriatic League titles, and four Serbian Cups.
In the 2025–2026 season, Mitrović played for CSKA Moscow, appearing in 40 VTB League games and averaging 5.7 points and 4.9 rebounds.
The 33-year-old Serbian, who has also been a member of his country’s national teams since the youth levels, will now bring his experience and presence under the basket to Bahçeşehir Koleji for the 2026–2027 season.
