Adrian Bernabé, a complicated contract extension: a major Italian club is about to get involved

The delay in Adrian Bernabé’s contract renewal with Parma could present a transfer opportunity for Inter. The Spanish midfielder’s contract is set to expire in June 2027, and so far, no progress has been made toward an extension. This situation could pave the way for his departure at the end of the season and has once again caught the attention of Inter.
Sporting director Dario Baccin is, in fact, continuing to monitor the 25-year-old, whom Inter has tracked in the past. Bernabé was evaluated in the summer of 2024, following Parma’s promotion to Serie A, and again at the end of the 2024–25 season, when Cristian Chivu coached the Emilia-Romagna-based club for the final thirteen matchdays. On those occasions, no concrete negotiations took place, but now his contractual situation could change the dynamics.
Having arrived in Italy in 2021 after coming up through the youth systems at Barcelona and Manchester City, Bernabé has made nearly 150 appearances for Parma. His versatility allows him to play both in front of the defense and as a right central midfielder. He is also a natural left-footer, a trait that is currently lacking in Inter’s midfield.
For these very reasons, the Spaniard could become an interesting and relatively affordable option for the Nerazzurri, especially if the balance of the midfield shifts at the end of the season and the club parts ways with Calhanoglu, who is tempted by a return to his homeland.
