In the last few hours, countless fans and public figures have expressed their support for Jannik Sinner. The South Tyrolean was forced to end his season early and will not return to the court until 2027, when (hopefully) he will have fully recovered from the knee injury that has been plaguing him for several months now.

The president of the Piedmont Region, Alberto Cirio, commented on the news as follows: “Jannik Sinner’s absence from the upcoming ATP Finals is certainly a disappointment, and that’s only natural. He has given us extraordinary moments of excitement and the priceless joy of waving the Italian flag at such a high-level competition.”

“Now all eyes are on the new edition, featuring the world’s greatest international champions and our own Cobolli, who will make the Finals even more unpredictable and full of suspense. Jannik has all of our support, along with our best wishes for a speedy recovery and the hope of seeing him back on the court soon.”

Turin Mayor Stefano Lo Russo also sent a message to the Italian star: “We are saddened to learn that Jannik Sinner will not be able to be in Turin for the next edition of the ATP Finals. On behalf of the city, we send him our best wishes for a speedy recovery.”

“Jannik has won the hearts of the people of Turin through his successes and the sporting values he embodies: commitment, respect, and fairness—qualities deeply rooted in our city. Turin is preparing to welcome the great stars of tennis for a new edition of the Finals, which we are certain will once again provide us with great excitement.”

Adriano Panatta commented on Sinner’s decision to return in 2027: “Jannik is young; he still has many years ahead of him, and I’m convinced he’ll come back stronger than ever. Right now, he just needs to focus on getting better and taking care of himself. I wish him the very best in his recovery and hope to see him back on the court soon.”

“I’m very sorry that Jannik has to end his season here. I’m sure that, together with his staff and especially his doctors, he’s made the wisest choice. Health comes first, and when a physical problem arises for a top-level athlete, you have to have the patience to recover properly, to take a break, and not rush things.”
