Insults and Whistles: Fines for Two Teams Newly Promoted to A2

Onofrio De Ghezzinis

The second round of first-half matches was also played in Serie A2, and fines were handed out in the second division as well: two clubs were sanctioned and one received a warning.

ELACHEM VIGEVANO. A fine of 750.00 euros for frequent collective insults directed at the referees by the crowd [Art. 27.4bd RG rec., Art. 24.2b RG]

PROVALUE JUVECASERTA 2021. A fine of 750.00 euros for conduct intended to disrupt the normal course of the game (use of noise-making devices) [Art. 27.3 RG]

VICTORIA LIBERTAS PALL. PESARO. Warning for a malfunction of the game clock that caused the game to be interrupted on two occasions [Art. 40.1a RG]

It should be noted that both Vigevano and Juvecaserta are two of the three teams newly promoted from National B that made their debut in Serie A2 this 2026–2027 season, along with Montecatini. For both teams, this is therefore their debut in the second division, and the enthusiasm of their respective fan bases—which, in Vigevano’s case, manifested as excessive chants directed at the referees, and in Juvecaserta’s case, as the use of unauthorized noise-making devices—attests to the passion with which the fans are embracing this new adventure.

The 2026–2027 Serie A2 league features twenty participating teams, sixteen of which carried over from the previous season, plus Dinamo Sassari—relegated from the top division—and the three clubs promoted from B Nazionale. The regular season consists of thirty-eight matchdays, at the end of which the top-ranked team will earn direct promotion to Serie A, while the teams ranked second through thirteenth will compete for the other available spot through the playoffs. At the bottom of the standings, the last-place team will be directly relegated to B Nazionale, while the teams ranked 16th through 19th will compete in the playouts.

As for the upcoming round, Matchday 3, scheduled for Sunday, October 11, will see Vigevano play on the road against Cento, while Juvecaserta will host Pesaro and Victoria Libertas will travel to Pesaro to face Juvecaserta from Campania — an opportunity for all three sanctioned clubs to put disciplinary issues behind them and focus exclusively on the court.
