Ducati’s Dall’Igna Has Blind Faith in Marc Marquez: “He Already Knows What to Do”

Ducati General Manager Gigi Dall’Igna spoke about the heated final stretch of the MotoGP World Championship during a press conference on the eve of the Indonesian Grand Prix: “I believe every championship is different. And this is probably the most difficult of all because the competition with our rivals is very tight. We’ve won a few races in the last few Grand Prix events. In any case, our rivals are incredibly fast, and it won’t be easy to clinch the title in the end.”
Dall’Igna has a lot of confidence in Marc Marquez: “He’s used to fighting for the title, and I truly believe he knows how to do it. Our rivals at Mugello had such a large points lead that it was hard to imagine winning the title by the end of the season. In any case, this is our job. We have to believe it’s possible. We have to encourage everyone to believe in it. Marc, I believe, is the best at this. He’s spurred us on tremendously and believed we could win the title.”
Compliments to Aprilia: “The truth is, I have many friends at Aprilia. If anyone has to beat us, I think it’s better if it’s friends who do it.”
D’Igna also spoke about 2027 and the reduction in engine power: “To be honest, I think the main reason we wanted to reduce performance isn’t the performance itself, but the speed. The speed the riders reach and the speed at which they enter corners. That’s why we wanted to harness the engine’s power and capabilities. I believe that even if lap times were very similar to those in 2026, we could still achieve something in terms of safety.”
